Community Work at Maybridge Community Church
What's our work in the community?
Maybridge Community Church has always been involved in the community in which it is situated and is constantly considering how it can be involved in transformation for the future. This experience of working with the needs of people in this community over many years led to a consultation in the local area in 1997 and the formation of the Mile Project as the collective name for a range of emerging community projects. The Mile Project became a registered charity in 2002 (No. 1095188) and involved a wide range of people who are committed to making a difference in this part of Worthing. On 31st March 2010 the Mile Project as a separate charity closed but its work was transfered to Maybridge Community Church who now continue to deliver the current Mile Projects. In addition to these specific projects we have a long term arrangement with West Sussex County Council who operate a Children and Family Centre from our site during the week. This, along with a recent expansion of our work with the elderly, has broadened our role in our community.
