Phil Papps
After gaining a degree in Theology, Phil spent 13 years with the Education Service in different parts of the South East, working with children and families experiencing difficulties. He gained experience as a front-line Education Welfare Officer and later became Head of the Education Welfare Service in West Sussex. In this role he worked with a broad range of other community service providers on local and regional issues and gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Strategic Management.
He then moved to a post as Children's Centre Strategy Manager before joining Maybridge Community Church and the Mile Project in 2005.
Since 2003 Phil has been a school governor and he is currently the Chair of Governors at the Orchards Community Middle School in the Maybridge area of Worthing. In moments of spare time he can be found bird watching, snapping with his camera or watching motor sport - and going to great lengths to avoid DIY or shopping!
