Becoming a Partner of Maybridge Community Church
At Maybridge Community Church, we are moving from Membership to Partnership.
When we use the phrase Partnership, we are using it to mean three things:
Partnership with God
The first and primary sense is as a way of describing our relationship with God – to partner with God’s purposes for our own lives and for the world.
Partnership with God’s people
When we talk about Partnership, we are also talking about a new understanding of how individuals relate to the wider church. We believe that genuine partnership with God as individuals is not ultimately possible without meaningful partnership with God’s people.
Partnership with the traditions of the church
As a community we place ourselves in the evangelical tradition but recognise that there are treasures from the other traditions of the church which can lead us to Christ. Our faith journey is a partnership with these traditions.
To become a partner of the church is to adopt a different mindset.
‘How can my life be used by God in His purposes for the world?’
Partnership is less about how regularly we attend lots of church meetings and much more about living a godly rhythm of life. Partnership church is what happens when we take the church gathered and the church scattered equally seriously.
If you want to explore our invitation to partnership, we will meet with you and hear your story and explore ways in which we can help, resource and encourage you in that journey. We would then talk about our vision as a church and how we understand we are called to partner with God’s purposes of transformation in our community. We are holding Partnership Courses through the year for you to hear more.
