GodSpace
As many of you know GodSpace was conceived in response to comments from people that said they find it "hard to find God in the midst of busy lives". It’s one thing to come to church on a Sunday, and worship together, but where do we find the time to slow down and be still and sense the presence of God?
And so at GodSpace, we turn the main hall into a quite place. It’s a place to light candles and pray for those we know need God’s help. It’s a place to receive bread and wine, it’s a place to use creative ways to focus our minds on God, but above all it’s a place to sit and be still. We were encouraged to receive this email recently…
I just wanted to tell you about my experience of last night. I could so easily have used loads of excuses to myself for not coming, a long day at work, I'm tired, I won't have time to eat before I go etc etc, all because I was nervous of what the experience might be and what might be expected of me within a group of people at church. God had other ideas though and so I put my nerves to one side and came.
I'm so glad that I did, I so rarely get the opportunity to sit in peace with God, there are so many distractions in everyday life. I felt totally at ease and comfortable with just sitting and talking to God. I intend to remember the peace of last night and to try and achieve it more often in my prayer life.
Even if you’re normally too busy to 'get to church' in the week. If you are struggling to find peace or to connect to God, then may I warmly encourage you to come along to a GodSpace event. The dates are given under 'Events.'
